Marta Makanec - Filipčić
Marta Makanec - Filipčić , born in Zagreb in 1942, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1965 in the class of Ivo Šebalj. After graduating, she continued her studies in painting with the help of her father and mentor Miron Makanec.
1965 - 1975 Due to family commitments, the focus of her work shifts to landscapes. After the maritime ones, came the landscapes of Zagorje, and a few depicting the Zagreb region. She exhibits in Zagreb and the surrounding area. A great encouragement for her was the award she received on the occasion of the commissioning of the Djerdap HES hydroelectric power plant (1972).
1975 - 1985 She turns to the vedettes, which make up the majority of her one-woman shows. The landscape remained only within the limits of the possibilities of direct contact with nature and was expressed using the dry tempera technique. The local color is monochromatic.
1985 - 1995 After the loss of her father Miron, she becomes emotionally withdrawn, paints only small-format works and experiments with watercolor techniques. In her early works she expresses herself tonally, while in later periods color saturation predominates. She chooses colorful themes.
1995 - 2005 She gives up the tempera technique and devotes herself permanently to gouache, she is the leader of several art groups and participates in the art colonies in Primošten, Šibenik, Okić, Hvar – Palmižana, Slunj, Lovran, Vodice and Karlovac.
